pestle and mortar, spice grinder, or mini coffee mill
Ingredients
1Tbspcosmetic grade gentle clay (such as kaolin or French green clay)
1Tbspground oatmeal
½tspground lavender blossoms
½tspraw honey
1-2Tbspskefir
Instructions
Grind the oatmeal: Crush the oatmeal as finely as possible using a pestle, spice grinder, or mini coffee mill. Set aside.
Grind the lavender: Gently crush the dried lavender blossoms until fragrant.
Mix dry ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the ground oatmeal, lavender, and clay.
Add honey: Stir in raw honey until evenly distributed.
Add kefir: Gradually add kefir until the mask is thick but spreadable.
Apply and store: Spread onto clean skin. If too thick, add a little extra kefir. This batch makes about three applications. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days.
Notes
Instead of kefir, you could use yogurt or sour milk in this recipe.
If you have oily skin, use bentonite clay in this recipe to make it more cleansing.
Store any leftover mask in an airtight container in the fridge. Use within 3-5 days for the freshest, most nourishing results.
